Ecstatic

Today is the last day of school. It's time for us to celebrate. No more school and no more waking up in the morning. Hip hip hooray! Time for us to have a holiday.Room 12 is so ecstatic to be finally be getting a break from school. Hope fully we have a wonderful holiday. I am really happy to get two weeks off. Time to relax and forget about um.... what? Looks like I have already forgotten. Now the journey has began. Have a safe holiday and have fun.

Major earthquake!

Have you ever been in an earthquake? Well if you have then you will have had a bad experience .  If you haven’t, then you don’t know what it feels like.

It’s just so sad for the people who need help but there is no one to help them. Hundreds and thousands of people have died in the past few years because of earthquakes.

Why do earthquakes happen? Well I know it’s something to do with plates moving. No, not dinner plates, the rock plates inside our earth. I wish that nothing bad would happen to anyone because it’s just too sad. Earthquakes shouldn’t happen at all then everyone would be safe and sound.

Earthquakes have struck a few times in New Zealand, but mostly in Christchurch.
There has never been a major earthquake in Auckland, but I am sure an earthquake will come, unexpectedly.

Have you practiced an earthquake drill before? Well Glen Innes School has; so if an earthquake happens we all know what to do.
Do you know?  It’s Drop, cover and hold. So if you are in an earthquake remember these three things you should do.

Just remember DROP, COVER AND HOLD!

Surprise!

Do you want to have a music and art centre? Well Today, we were invited to share our ideas for the Glen Innes Music and Art Centre. It was a great opprutunity to share our ideas with Debbie the Landscaper, Jo The Sustainability, Lindsay main Architect and Venessa from Auckland City Council.
When we got the chance to write down our ideas; Sameera, Enosi, Devonn, Alisi and I decided to work all together in a group, to make it easier. Our group had a lot of great ideas, but overall Devonn's idea was the best. I won't tell you what it is, because it's a surprise.
I will tell you a secret! Mrs.Barry (my teacher) she wrote on our paper and ruined it, she wrote "Longa did this", but actually Mrs. Barry did it. Don't tell her I told you. Then we talked about sustainability, which basically means something that can help the environment to be better.  I learnt a lot of new things and I am sure the other people have too. A few minutes later, it was time to go. I had a great time and I  can't wait for the next one!

Delicious Soup

Last week, we made delicious soup. Everyone in Room 12 had a turn at peeling potatoes, cutting potatoes and leek. It was a great experience for Room 12, to feel what it's like to make soup.
There were two types of soup, they were pumpkin and potato soup. I wasn't too confident on eating the potato soup, but when I tried it I liked it so much. I am glad I tried it. When I finished the potato soup, I was full as. Some people didn't like it, but most of them did.
Thank you so much to Mrs. Lammas , Mrs Pat and all the other people, that helped to make soup for Glen Innes
Soup is another healthy thing for you, especially when you are sick or not feeling well.

I love puppies!

Snoopy
Girly
Do you like puppies? Well I absolutely adore puppies. Do you know why I love puppies? It's because I grew up with a puppy called Spot. Spot is about 8-9 years old. I like Spot because he is kind to me and plays with me. Also because my brother Jamie  has two labador, red nose, part German shepherd  puppies named Snoopy and Girly. They are brother and sister, which makes it better for them to communicate much better also play together in a friendly way. Sometimes they can annoy me by crying. Did you know that puppies cry? Well I didn't know until they started crying. But you can get used to it. Puppies are just great to own because you can have a lot of fun and when they grow up you can take them for walks. I enjoy playing with Spot, Girly and Snoopy. I am sure if you have a puppy or puppies, you will enjoy playing with them as much as I do.
